As you prepare to immerse yourself in Masters Events: Oxford, for the largest mental health and trauma conference in Europe – we want to help you make the most of your time here!

Oxford is an incredibly historic city, packed with fascinating architecture, breathtaking sights, and not-to-be-missed events.

Whilst you’re visiting for The Master Series, why not check out everything else the city has to offer?

  1. The historical fair of St. Giles (September 9-10): Taking place a few days before our Trauma Conference gets underway, St Giles’ Fair is one of the greatest and most prestigious events in the country. From celebrating the patron saint in the 17th century, to becoming a toy fair in the 18th century and a children’s fair in the Victorian period, St. Giles is now thought to be the largest of its kind in all of Europe!
  2. Oxford Open Doors 2024 (September 14-15): Celebrate the city’s heritage and culture by getting behind Oxford’s closed doors! People are invited to explore the colleges, university buildings and green spaces, and hidden heritage sites across the city – many of which are not usually open to the public.
  3. Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials 2024 (September 19-22): Taking place in the breathtaking grounds of nearby Blenheim Palace, the Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials offers four days of eventing action – including Dressage, Cross Country and Showjumping.

There’s also plenty of other things going on in Oxford, so whilst you’re here why not visit:

Step into history with Oxford Open Doors 2024, where the city’s hidden gems are unveiled for exploration. Wander through the storied halls of Merton College, where JRR Tolkien wrote much of The Lord of the Rings. Immerse yourself in the magic of Christ Church which doubles as Hogwarts during multiple scenes in the Harry Potter films, or lose yourself in the literary treasures of The Bodleian Library, where at least five kings, and luminaries such as Oscar Wilde, CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien, have studied.

Indulge your curiosity at the Ashmolean Museum or journey through time at the Pitt Rivers Museum. Take in the ethereal strains of evensong at Christ Church Cathedral or embark on a unique overnight stay at Oxford Castle and Prison.

Don’t miss the chance to stroll through the serene beauty of Oxford’s Botanic Garden and Arboretum or experience the quintessential Oxford pastime of punting along the tranquil waters of Magdalen Bridge

As you navigate The Master Series: Oxford, let the city’s allure captivate you, and may your exploration extend beyond the conference halls. We eagerly await your tales of discovery and delight as you experience the full richness of this historic city. Enjoy your journey of exploration!
